Bio

Willie C. Calhoun, 88, of Huntsville passed away Saturday. He was born April 4, 1920, in Fullerton, La. He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie J. Calhoun, and four brothers. Willie served in World War II in the Aleutian Islands and the Kodiak Islands of Alaska. He was honorably discharged in September 1944. He retired from civil service at Redstone Arsenal in 1974 as a master welder. He received numerous patents and acknowledgements for his metal fabrication skills. He was a lifetime ember of the VFW as well as a member of the Cahaba Shrine Temple. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn L. Schill of Meridianville; two sons, Carroll Wayne Calhoun of Orange, Texas, and Michael J. Calhoun of Harvest; one brother; three sisters; eight grandchildren, Teresa Schill, Craig Schill, Carrie Black, Jason Calhoun, Jessie Calhoun, Rachel Calhoun, Zachary Calhoun, and Todd Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney Schill, Troy Schill, Sarah Black, Julie Black, Jessica Black, Kendall Calhoun, Candace Calhoun, and Cynthia Calhoun.
