Bio

Elizabeth A. Itz, age 86, of Wall, TX, died on Wednesday, Oct. 5 2005, in Meadow Creek Nursing Center. Elizabeth was born on July 23, 1919, in Olfen, TX, to Herman and Elizabeth Halfmann. She was married to Paul Itz in Fredericksburg, TX on Sept. 26, 1943. Paul and Elizabeth operated Itz's Grocery in Wall from 1947 until his death in 1968. From 1968 on, Elizabeth continued to operate the store until her retirement in 1993. Most students who attended wall school spent time at their store. She was famous for her "Itz burgers" which she created. She is still missed dearly.
