As a generous and patient grandfather, Vegie offered invaluable guidance and unwavering support to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He embraced the role of a loving father figure, always offering comfort and wisdom. He left a lasting impact as a cherished family member and true friend. Vegie, a deeply revered Air Force veteran, humbly carried the distinction of a remarkable 22-year career. Despite his courageous contributions during the Vietnam War and awards including the Bronze Star Medal, he modestly never sought recognition for his service. Following retirement from the Air Force, Vegie settled in Athens, TX, dedicating himself to education and his beloved cattle farm. As an inspiring math teacher and respected principal, he left an unforgettable impact and was beloved by coworkers and students alike. Vegie's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be remembered.
