Pekin, IL - Paul H. Magnuson, 80, of Pekin, Ill., passed away at 10:21 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on March 1, 1935, in Hallock, Minn., to George and Pearl (Hallet) Magnuson. He married Roberta Johnson on April 6, 1962, in Rock Island, Ill. She preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 1984, in Peoria. He then married Mae (Samms) Brecklin on Feb. 14, 1993, in Las Vegas. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (Mike) Cooper of Mapleton and Rose (Mike) Marsh of Lebanon, Mo.; two stepsons, Dan (Susan) Brecklin of Florida and Jack (Lisa) Brecklin of East Peoria; nine grandchildren, Everett (Tammy) Cooper, Matthew Cooper, Jason Ellis, Jacob Ellis, Dustin (Stephanie) Brecklin, Adam (Jill) Brecklin, Nate Brecklin, Kalie Brecklin and Beau Brecklin; four great-grandchildren, Keaden, Paige, Austin and Avery Brecklin; and two brothers, George (Ardelle) Magnuson of Shakopee, Minn., and Dan (Judy) Magnuson of Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Ann England and Beverly Nelson. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Creve Coeur Christian Church. He worked as a regional vice president of Reserve Life Insurance Company. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, Ill.
