{ Obituary - Courtesy of Harper Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas } LaVerne Meredith , 96, of San Angelo, Texas left us peacefully on February 16, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1928 in Slocum, Texas to Tom Carol and Gladys Vanderbilt Alsobrook. LaVerne loved to cook and entertain her family, making sure to spend time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved the outdoors spending time doing yard work, gardening, sitting talking and partying around a campfire, watching the soap operas and old western shows on television. Laverne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her Father, Mother and her loving husband William Owen Meredith. Left to cherish her memory are her children James Carol & Pat Meredith, Mary Kathleen Hicks, Deborah Jean & Randy Vela, William Owen & Lisa Meredith, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, dearest friends Lolita De Los Santos, Amalia Ibarra, Glenda (Rodney) Sikes.
