Donna M. Long, 83, passed away on February 6, 2025, at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville, KS. A visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 13, at Ward Funeral Home. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Donna was born on May 26, 1941, in rural Washington County, Kansas, to Thomas and Emma (Houdek) Moravek. She graduated from Washington High School then worked at Brown's Drugstore and later at the Washington County Hospital as a receptionist. On November 17, 1963, Donna was united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Washington. Donna farmed alongside her husband, working ground, raising chickens and, for 25 years, they raised puppies. She also enjoyed embroidery and quilting, often quilting with her dear friends, talking and laughing together as much as sewing. Donna was an avid sport fan. She loved watching the Kansas City Royals, K-State men's and women's sports, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Her sense of humor, ready smile and dedication to her family and friends filled the hearts of everyone who met her. Donna leaves behind a legacy of deep love for her family and friends, kindness, laughter and tireless caring for others. Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas and Emma (Houdek) Moravek and her brother, Leland Moravek. Survivors include her husband, son and daughter, and two grandchildren.
