Published Aug. 1, 1966 - Chanute, KS Morgan Meldon Murrah, 57, of 1719 S. Edith, Chanute, Kansas, died unexpectedly last night, July 31, 1966, at Neosho Memorial Hospital, Chanute, Kansas. He was born April 24, 1909, in Dallas, Texas, the son of James & Lizzie (Bass) Murrah. He married Ruby Ramsey, Sept. 1, 1931, at Chanute, Kansas. He had lived in Chanute for 27 years. He was an engineer for the AT&SF Railroads. He was a member of the BLF&E. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Webb, of Wichita, KS, Mrs. Raymond (Glenda) Smith, of Edwards, CA, and Mrs. Bill (Shirley) Hosfeldt, 1707 S. Ashby, Chanute, KS; one son, Robert Murrah, of Huntington Park, CA; two brothers, U.L. Murrah, of McKinney, TX, and Dewitt Murrah, of Dallas, TX; four sisters, Mrs. Naomi Akins and Mrs. Elaine Phillips, of Dallas, TX, Mrs. Odessa Cotter, of Gardena, CA, and Mrs. Geneva Douglas, of McKinney, TX; and seven grandchildren. The funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Johnson Mortuary, Chanute, Kansas.
