Daily News (Winona, Minn.), June 22, 1995, p. 4A, col. 4 Dr. Bernard P. Nolan Dr. Bernard P. Nolan, 90, of St. Anne Hospice, Winona, died Tuesday (June 20, 1995) at Community Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nolan was born in Alliance, Neb., on Aug. 16, 1904, to Patrick and Barbara Meyocks Nolan. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., receiving his M.D. degree in 1930. He then practiced medicine at Humphrey, Neb., and Sisseton and Mobridge, S.D., before retiring in 1974. He also served as a physician in the Civilian Conservation Corps and in the Indian Service at Sisseton and Pine Ridge, S.D. He also served as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving overseas in India. Dr. Nolan was a dedicated physician, available to all, day and night. He was a devoted father and husband and enjoyed his association with the Rotary Club of Mobridge. He married Agnes M. Aitken on April 23, 1933, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha. She died March 16, 1991. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Winona. Survivors are sons, Dr. Robert (Dorothy) Nolan of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. J. Patrick (Rhonda) Nolan of Everett, Wash., Dr. Richard (Doris) Nolan of Carmel, Ind., Dr. Dennis (Patricia) Nolan of Winona, and Timothy Nolan of Steamwood, Ill.; a daughter, Catherine (James) Shirber of Albuquerque, N.M; 32 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Burke of Alliance. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Ruth and Agnes; and children Marilyn and Terrance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at St. Anne Hospice, Winona; the Rev. Thomas Loomis, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, and the Rev. Monsignor J. Richard Feiton, St. Anne Hospice concelebrating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Fawcett Funeral Home, where there will be a rosary at 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:15 a.m. until time of service at St. Anne Hospice. Memorials may be directed to St. Anne Hospice. Fawcett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
