David Lord, 85, of Duncan, Oklahoma went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Duncan. David was born March 21, 1939, to Elzie and Celestie Lord in Lawton, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Sandy. To this marriage was born a daughter, Lisa, and son, Paul. David served in the US Army for 4 years and the National Guard for 4 years. He attended OU and received a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for Halliburton for 40 years before retiring in 2004. During his time there, he received numerous awards and patents. In his free time, David loved to fish, read, and travel. He was also an avid OU sports fan. Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of the home; daughter, Lisa Fullerton and husband Mike of Newcastle, OK; son, Paul Lord and wife Tammy of Houston, TX; grandsons: Trevor Fullerton and wife Kurstin of Tuttle, OK, Tyler Fullerton of Newcastle, OK; and one great-granddaughter, Blakelee Fullerton of Tuttle, OK. Other survivors include brothers: Anthony Lord of Germantown, MD, Donald Lord of Lewiston, NY; sister, Barbara Rice of Lawton, OK; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. David was preceded in death by parents, Elzie and Celestie Lord and sisters: JoAnn Huff and Donna Mae Lord. The family will receive visitors from 5:00-6:30pm, Thursday, January 30, at Whitt Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 31, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Paul Burden, Lanny Landrum, Kenny Maxwell, Tommy Byrd, Justin Byrd, and James Carman serving as pallbearers.
