Bio

Richard Frank Hain, 82, Born in rural Bee, Nebraska May 27, 1942, to Frank Hain Jr., and Pauline Trousil Hain. His family moved to Dwight Nebraska when Rick was a freshman in high school. He attended Dwight Assumption where he and Nadine Kadavy started dating as Juniors and graduated together in 1960. Rick and Nadine married October 5, 1963, and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. Their son, Pat, was born in 1964 and daughter, Lisa, in 1965. Rick was in the Army National Guard of Nebraska as a Light Weapons Infantryman from 1960 – 1964 which took him to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Ord, California. He attended the National Business Institute after high school and worked for Misle Chevrolet, Ford Van Lines and the State of Nebraska in administrative and accounting roles. In 1969 he began his 40-year career at Lincoln General Hospital where he was Director of Business Services and Data Processing, later Director of Information Services. In 2000 when LGH became BryanLGH Medical Center, he was the Information Security Officer. He handled the implementation of HIPAA for the privacy and security of patient information and claims processing. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nadine (Kadavy) Hain, son Patrick Hain (Kristin) of Lincoln, daughter Lisa Stiffler (Phil) of Platte City, Missouri, grandson Joshua Hain (fiancé Izzy Monzon) of Lincoln, brother Melvin Hain (Diane) of Lincoln, Grand Cat Mezkal, Grand Dog Arlo and Great Grand Dog Maverick. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Hain Jr. and Pauline (Trousil) Hain and most recently Mittens, their cat of 17 years. Celebration of Life at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lincoln, NE February 7, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Burial in the Dwight Assumption Cemetery at 2 p.m.
