Bio

Richard (Rick) Prochaska, 62, of Lincoln, passed away April 9, 2018. He was born January 11, 1956 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Jerome and Elvera Prochaska. Rick graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1974 and attended the University of Nebraska where he proudly played the Trombone in the UNL marching band. Rick owned Prochaska Painting for over 30 years. He was a kind employer, known for lending a hand to those in need. He was a natural musician and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. Rick was an avid golfer and bowler, routinely participating in leagues. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Preceded in death by his parents, brother David and sister Julie. Survived by his son Brian (Alissa) Prochaska; daughter Lisa (Brian) Etherton; and grandchildren Myah Hobelman and Weston Prochaska all of Lincoln; sister Mary Jean (Robert) Schwenke; brother Bruce Prochaska; and nephews Mark and Scott Schwenke. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 13 at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
