Betty grew up in the warm embrace of Mooringsport, where she was nurtured by her loving parents, Mildred and L. E. Franklin of Lubbock, Texas. She shared her childhood with her siblings, Tom Franklin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, John Franklin of Lubbock, Texas, James Franklin of San Antonio, Texas, and Joan Stewart of Snyder, Texas. Her early years were filled with the simple joys of Southern life, which laid the foundation for the incredible woman she would become. Throughout her life, Betty was known for her kind heart and creative spirit. She found solace and joy in the pages of books and the strokes of a paintbrush, often sharing this passion with her children. Her love for reading and art not only enriched her life but also inspired those around her to embrace their own creative endeavors.
