In Memoriam BILLY JACK "JACKIE" CAVET December 29, 1948 ~ August 25, 2017 Billy Jack "Jackie" Cavet died Friday, August 25, 2017, at his home in Quanah. He was 68. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Quanah, with Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park. There will also be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening, at Smith Funeral Home. Jackie was born on December 29, 1948, in Quanah, Texas, to William Jack and Kathryn Louise (Belcher) Cavet. Don Lunsford was his step-father. He and Rose Koehne were married in Houston, on March 26, 1976. They moved back to Quanah in 2003, and after a brief retirement, returned to Dallas, in 2006. In 2011, they moved back to Quanah. Jackie was a machine specialist and machinist at Haliburton for 34 years. He was a Baptist and held Bible Study groups at Haliburton. He played guitar in various bluegrass and gospel bands. He also formed a family band that played together at Belcher family reunions. He is survived by his wife, Rose; 3 sons – Troy Cavet, of Granbury, Texas; Richard Cavet, of Carrollton, Texas; and Tracy Cavet, of Hurricane, Utah; 2 daughters – Kathryn Lucas, of Garland, Texas; and Jennifer Cavet, of Quanah; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 5 brothers – Bruce Cavet, of Burleson, Texas; Rusty Lunsford, of Sanger, Texas; Jack Sylvester, of Mississippi; James Cavet of Virginia; Roger Lunsford of Paris, Texas; 9 sisters – Linda Dewbre of Crosbyton, Texas; Betsy Bryant, of Paris, Texas; Donna Jo Sipe, of Decatur, Texas; Barbara Garner, of Sherman, Texas; Debra Cavet of Monroe, Louisiana; Vera Vander Pool of Nashville, Tennessee; Caroline Nolen, of Monroe, Louisiana; Sandra Waldo, of Virginia; and Jenie Sylvester, of Mississippi.
