Bio

Donis "Granny" Gordy, 103, of Cody died peacefully April 11, 2012, at Powell Valley Care Center. She is survived by daughters Edyth Nell Murry of Westlake, La., Janis Holder of Cody and Norita Helton of Leesville, La., brother Roy Berry, 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshal Gordy, brothers Harold and Jim Berry, and sisters Vivian Waskom, Bert Stewart and Demple Lawrence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Ballard Funeral Home with Pete Idema officiating. Burial will be at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, La.
