Bio

Edward Joseph Pavelek passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 3, 2024 surrounded by his family in Lakeway, TX. Funeral service will be held on Friday November 8, at 11:00 am at St. Monica Catholic Church in Cameron, TX. Entombment to follow at St. Monica Catholic Mausoleum. Born on November 23, 1939 in Cameron TX to Edward Ladis Pavelek and Matilda (Mayer) Pavelek, he was the older brother to James Robert Pavelek and George Andrew Pavelek. He was a devoted husband to Dolores Tindall for 66 years and a loving father to his three children, Eddie, Debbie, and Lisa. Over the course of his lifetime he went by several names that reflected the nature of his character and the different roles he played in many people's lives. Whether it was, Eddie Joe, Dad, Grandpa, or just Ed – he never met a stranger and always had a big smile on his face. After graduating from Yoe High he joined the Navy and married the love of his life, Dolores Tindall. Ed spent four years in the Navy where he served his country and learned to box – which later helped him earn the nickname Fast Eddie. He received an honorable discharge and worked for several employers before branching out on his own as a very successful entrepreneur and businessman. Ed created and sold several businesses with Dolores right by his side the entire time. Family was the most important thing to him in life and he was a very generous man – always telling jokes and making people smile. He was a role model to his sons-in-law on how to be a good husband and grandfather and was very loving of his family. Ed enjoyed cars, social clubs, fine dining, and spending time with family and friends. He retired and split time between Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Lakeway, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Matilda Pavelek, his brother James Pavelek and son Edward Mark Pavelek. He is survived by his wife Dolores Tindall Pavelek, Daughters Debora Denise (Pavelek) Urban and husband Dave Urban, Lisa Michelle (Pavelek) Childress and husband Matthew Childress, granddaughters, Tiffany Adele Urban, Lauren Ashley Urban, Elyssa Childress Owens and husband Ethan Owens, great-grandsons, Elton Ladislav Owens and Phoenix Jaxson Edward Urban. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor. Obit From Marek Burns Laywell Cameron, TX.
