Bio

Born in 1885, Jesse Jackson Sanders was the youngest son of Jesse Sanders and Amanda "Mandy" Pickering. After the death of his father in 1903, he farmed the family land in Murchison, Texas. At first he farmed with his brother Walter and later with his sister, Sarah Elizabeth "Bet" Sanders until both of them eventually married and moved away. He married in 1929 and he and his wife Lola Burton Sanders had four children. In 1949, they sold the family farm and in 1951 they moved to Overton in Rusk County, where he died in 1964.
