Fort Bend Herald, December 26, 2024: Lorine Byrd Sevcik was born August 25, 1937 in Gonzales, Texas to Alton Byrd and Annie Laas Byrd. She passed away December 20, 2024 in Richmond, Texas at the age of 87. Lorine married Rudy David in 1955. They had 5 children, Roger David, Lynda David, Robert (Bobby) David, Barbara David, and Darlene David. Lorine and Rudy later divorced. She worked at the Rose Drive-In during the 1950s and early 60's. Later, in 1968, she worked at Sevcik's bakery for 4 years. Then in 1972, she married John Sevcik, the owner. They continued to own and operate the bakery for the next 10 years, and then moved to Livingston where they owned another bakery for a short time. At this point they decided they wanted to go in the business of selling antiques and moved to Huntsville to do so. They lived there until her husband, John Sevcik passed away. She then moved back to Rosenberg to be near her children in 1995. Lorine is preceded in death by her parents, Alton Byrd and Annie Laas Byrd; also, her husband, John Sevcik, followed by daughters, Darlene David Nix, Barbara David Gilmore, and son, Robert (Bobby) David. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Byrd, Alton (Sonny) Byrd, and James Byrd. Lorine is survived by daughter, Lynda Frazier and her husband, Robin Frazier, whom she thought the world of, and her son, Roger David. Also surviving Lorine is her stepdaughter, Joyce Sevcik Cawley and stepson, John Sevcik; her grandchildren, Kristi Matocha Eversole, Eric Frazier, Jason Frazier, Jennifer Pena, Wade Barrington, Rachelle David Murphy, Tiffany David, Shelly David, and Myranda Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Kati Eversole, Karleigh Eversole, Brett Murphy, Sara Anslum, Destiny Calixto, Danyelle Lara, and Preslie Barrington. As per her wishes, Lorine will be cremated. There will be no church or graveside services. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
