Bio

Angela M. Ashby Memorial service for Angela M. Ashby, 84, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Joseph R. Ross, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Ashby died Thursday, June 19, 2008, in Lawton. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. She was born Feb. 6, 1924, near Megargel, Texas, to Frank and Mary Kulhanek Moravec. She attended school in Megargel, Round Timber and Westover, Texas. She was married Dec. 31, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked at the Sheppard Air Force Exchange and continued working in several exchange services before coming to Fort Sill where she retired after 23 years of service in March 1979. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and a charter member of the Lawton Iris Society. Survivors include a sister, Marcella Marie Moravec, Lisle, Ill.; two nieces: Teresa Franklin and Ranee Abbe, both of Sherman, Texas; and a nephew, Mike Moravec, Sherman, Texas.
