OBITUARY FROM THE LIBERTY VINDICATOR, Thursday, Feb. 24, 1966 MRS. ZARSKY RITES ARE HELD Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Zarsky, 88, of Crosby were held at Sacred Heart Church of Crosby, Saturday, February 19, at 2 p.m. Father Pavelka officiated and burial was in Crosby Catholic Cemetery. Sterling Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Zarsky died Friday. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Survivors include five sons, Henry Zarsky of Dayton, Felix Zarsky and Charlie Zarsky of Crosby, Emil Zarsky of Navasota and Mike Zarsky of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Rosie Kuta of Montgomery; 34 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Mike Kowis, Jr., Albert Zarsky, Richard Kubin, Joe Zarsky, Albert Ubonoskye, and George Sbatek. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MOTHER MARY ZARSKY "It turns out Mary's children did not remember her parents correctly. I found her marriage record on FamilySearch taking place in Hallettsville, Texas on 7/19/1897. Although the names are recorded in Latin form (Catholic registers were often in that language) Her father is given as Alberti Grupa and her mother as Constancia Zelinsky. She married Johannem (John) Zarsky son of Jacob Zarsky and Rosalie Klosik.
