Bio

Dallas Mae Drake 2 Corinthians 13:11-14 joined her Lord peacefully on May 30, 2008, at age 78. She was lovingly cared for at her home by her three daughters and one son, and family during her last hours. She was comforted in the faith of her savior and the Lord Jesus Christ. Dallas was what people would call a "classy" lady. Because of her great dignity, joyful spirit, wonderful heart and unconditional love, her memory will continue to touch the lives of everyone who loved her. Dallas reminded us not to take life for granted but to cherish it as a gift from God. Her uncomplaining ways, humor, and positive attitude set an example for all that came in contact with her. She was born on August 14, 1929, in Maddock, North Dakota. She was a dispatcher at Rucker Brothers Trucking and a retired office manager for Milam Oldsmobile in Puyallup. Her final years were spent as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for 38 years. Surviving family members are her daughters Alonna Kvale and Cindi Squance; sons William Arger and Gerald Arger; stepdaughter Annarita Austin; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Drake; parents Emma and Carl Nelson; sisters Lil, Judy, Vi; brother Ed; and grandsons Ryan Squance and Ralph Austin. We will be having a celebration of her life at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Friday, June 27, 2008, at 1:00 pm, 4519 - 112th St. East, Tacoma, 253-531-2112. She will be inurned at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Many thanks to all of you for your prayers and good wishes.
