June 14, 1947--June 13, 2008 Jimmy Webb left this life at his sister's home in Alamogordo, one day prior to his 61st birthday, after a ten month battle with the ill-effects of a massive stroke. Jimmy was born in Taylor, Texas, the fifth of ten children of Selma C. and Leona Webb. He is survived by four sisters and four brothers; Dolores Haney (Aubrey) of Paint Rock, TX, Joyce Britton (Earl) of Alamogordo, Carol Williams of Rusk, TX, Rebecca Carroll (George) of Carson City, NV, Joe Webb (Carol) of Houston, TX, Jack Webb of Alamogordo, Jerome Webb (Karen) of Phoenix, AZ, and Jeff Webb of Jacksonville, Fla. Jimmy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Webb; a nephew, Tom Raley and a great nephew, Jesse Wayne Webb. Jim was a follower of the Seventh Day Adventist faith having been baptized at Central Seventh Day Adventist Church in Albuquerque. He was a graduate of Sandia View Academy in Corrales, NM. As A young man, Jimmy lived in the Washington, DC area and was active in politics as a member of the Republican Party. Jim worked, in several different capacities, at Gerald Champion Memorial Hospital for over twenty five years. During that time he met, and became friends with, countless co-workers and patients. A memorial service will be conducted at the Alamogordo Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2008, with Chuck Moon officiating. Inurnment of his cremains will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
