Mass of Christian Burial Friday, December 6, 2024 ~ 10:30 a.m. St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church ~ Wahoo, Nebraska Interment at Sunrise Cemetery ~ Wahoo, Nebraska Phyllis Jean Chelberg, 81, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Saunders House in Wahoo, NE. She was born September 26, 1943 in Weston, NE to Willard and Emily (Churda) Barry. Phyllis attended Weston High School. She was united in marriage to Garry Chelberg on December 28, 1960 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, NE. Phyllis and Garry owned and operated Rays Hilltop Café in Brainard, NE. Phyl was a fabulous cook and loved entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating with her husband Garry. She also enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables with her friend Tom Vanderpool or sitting outside in the sun enjoying a cold beer with her friends while listening to polka music. She is survived by son, Scott (Deb) Chelberg of Encinitas, CA; grandchildren, Alex Kotera, Melissa (Jerad) Krejci, Cydney Chelberg, Kendel Chelberg, Robert Marinez, Connor Marinez and Jordan Marinez; great-grandchildren, Mila Marinez; Fletcher Krejci and Joslyn Krejcij; son-in-law, Les Kotera; many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Garry Chelberg; daughter, Pam Kotera; parents, Willard and Emily Barry; sister, Deloris Fujan.
