Herbert Clay Johnson JR. March 20, 1943 — November 29, 2024 Forsyth Herbert Clay "HC" Johnson Jr., passed away at his home November 29, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Monroe County, the youngest of four children to Herbert Clay Johnson Sr., and Ollie Gilbert Johnson. HC graduated from Mary Person's High School in 1963. HC obtained his Master Electrician, Master Mechanic, and Master Plumber licenses from the State of Georgia, and with his son Herbert "Herbie" Johnson III, started their business Johnson Installation and Repair Service in 1986. Because of his expertise and wealth of knowledge many people relied on him as a consultant. HC was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. HC went on many fishing and hunting trips with his friends. His other adventures included several trips to Europe. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Augustine Hammersley and nephew Cleve Haygood. HC is survived by his son Herbie Johnson; daughter, Denise Johnson Frazier, and grandson Raymond Scott Frazier III. Survivors also include his sisters Frances "Frankie" Johnson Haygood Evans, and Betty Ann Johnson Haygood, several nieces and nephews, and close friend Tony "TBird"" Mathis. HC will be truly missed by his family and close friends. A private ceremony and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
