Hajny was born in Williamsburg, KY in 1923 to Patrick and Ethel West. She is survived by one son, Matt Hajny and one daughter, Phyllis Swetzof, two granddaughters, and one sister, Mary Ann Perkins of Tucson. She was preceded in death by son, Frank Hanjay and husband of 55 years, Richard A. Hanjay. She attended nursing school in Louisville, KY and enjoyed a rewarding career for more than 30 years. Her ashes will be mixed with Richards and scattered on the Pribilof Islands. No services at her request.
