Services for Josephine Mae Jez Chupik Urubek, 95, of Temple will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Mrs. Urubek died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, in Temple. She was born June 5, 1929, in Oenaville to John and Annie Luksa Jez. She worked for the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board for many decades and was secretary of the board. She was a member of The Evangelical Brethren Church of Temple and later Temple Brethren Church, where she served on the church choirs, as pianist, and as a member of the Christian Sisters. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin L. Chupik, in 1978; and by her second husband, Frank J. Urubek, in 2022. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
