(Published in The Gilmer Mirror, Gilmer, Texas · Thursday, May 21, 1959, Page 11) Rites Held in Big Sandy for Lee Mings, 64 Funeral services for Elisha Lee Mings of Big Sandy were held at Big Sandy Church of Christ at 3 p.m. Friday. Officiating ministers were C.L. Embry and Carl Hulluway and burial was at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy. Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mings, native and life-time resident of Big Sandy, died at 9:45 p.m. May 13. He had been ill for an extended period. At his death he was 64 years, 3 months and 14 days old Mr. Mings had been a Big Sandy merchant when he was active. He married the former Alma Cronester [sic] May 19, 1937, in Gilmer, and she survives him. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rose Knight of Houston, a sister, Mrs. D.
