Dorothy Lavada (Wilson) Brockett, 100, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in Denton, TX. She was born on July 19, 1924 to Thomas Wilson and Frances Dowell in the Blackjack Community in Aubrey, TX. She married Leon O. Brockett on September 2, 1939 in Aubrey, TX. Dorothy was a seamstress for Russell Newman for 27 years. Dorothy is survived by two sons, H.L. and his wife Cheryl Brockett of Krugerville, TX, and Marion and his wife Lynda Brockett of Pilot Point, TX; daughter Janice Baughman of Krugerville, TX; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and nine great- great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Frances; husband, Leon Brockett; son-in-law Robbie Baughman; grandson Ryan Baughman; brother J.T. Wilson; and three sisters, Abbie King, Margaret Brumley, and Willie Mae Kruger. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Aubrey Education Foundation Inc. Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, TX.
