Susan Knowles Miller passed away peacefully on Oct. 8, 2024, at the age of 69 in Cheney, Wash. A service to celebrate Susan's life will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022. Born on Nov. 19, 1954, Susan dedicated her life to the healthcare field, retiring as a Registered Nurse at 62. She was renowned for her compassion and commitment to caring for the elderly, especially during her years serving the Sisters of the Holy Names. Susan's life was enriched by her love for animals, nature, and the joy of exploring new places. As an active-duty military wife for 24 years, she embraced the community and challenges of military life, fostering a love for new places and the beauty of the mountains. Her greatest joy in later years was spending time with her grandchildren, watching them grow and sharing in their adventures. From her high school days as a cheerleader and choir member in Fullerton Nebraska to her later years watching her grandchildren grow, she cherished every moment with her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Joseph Miller; son, Jay Miller and his wife, Dena; daughter, Valerie Marsh and her husband, Adam; along with grandchildren, Lincoln and Claire; and sister, Beverly Giardino.
