Bio

Evelyn Kral (Fiala), 78, passed away on October 3, 2024, in Brush, Colorado, after a quick battle with cancer. She was born on April 9th, 1946 in David City, Nebraska, to the parents of Joseph and Rose Fiala. Evelyn graduated from David City High School in 1964 and then went to Kearney State College to pursue her degree in home economics and education. She had her first teaching jobs in York, Utica and Clarkson Nebraska, before moving to Woodrow, Colorado in 1972. Evelyn taught at Woodlin Schools where she met her husband, Joe. Evelyn and Joe married on June 8th, 1975. She stayed at home after her children Joe and Colleen were born, while also substitute teaching in Brush Schools. In 1991, Evelyn began instructing at Morgan Community College, before retiring in 2011. Prior to retiring she moved from the farm in Woodrow to Brush. Evelyn most enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren, in her garden, swimming with her friends at the therapy pool and with her cats. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Kral Jr; brothers, Joe Fiala and Marvin Fiala; stepbrothers, Edmund Fiala, Leonard Fiala, Richard (Skip) Fiala and Ed Reha. She is survived by her children, son, Joe Kral III (wife Jennifer, grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Madison), daughter, Colleen Cook (husband Steve, grandchildren, Carsyn, Savanna); and her sisters, Eldeen Kabourek (John) and Mary Ann Birkel (Bill); and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 9:00 AM followed with the funeral service at 10:00 AM at the Brush United Methodist Church at 1701 Edmunds St, Brush, CO
