Bio

Records show that Tomas Martinek, born 29 March 1851, was the firstborn child of Stepan & Rozina Rohac Martinek. He came to America, via the Baltimore port, aboard the Nurnberg with his parents and 7 siblings (Rozina, Anna, Katerina, Stepan, Jan, Johanna, & Josef) in 1874. The Martinek family settled in the Fayetteville area of Texas. On 19 November 1876 Tomas married Anna Adam. Tomas & Anna made their home in Waco, Texas where their daughter, Anna, was born in August 1879, just 5 months before he died. Rev. Juren's burial notes show that Tomas was buried at the Fayetteville Brethren Church cemetery, apparently in an unmarked grave.
