Marriage: The Daily Ardmoreite, Ardmore, OK, Thursday, 9 Feb 1911, Pg 5, Married Last Sunday - Ben Stolfa, son of J J Stolfa of this city and Miss Ethel Taylor, daughter of Mr and Mrs Z T Taylor of B Street, Northwest, were united in marriage last Sunday, Feb 5, 1911. The ceremony was a quiet one, only relatives and a few intimate friends were present. Father J J Wallrap conducted the ceremony. Mr and Mrs Stolfa are at home at the Dr Alvis place on North Washington Street. Obituary: Progress Bulletin, Pomona , CA, Thursday, 11 Feb 1954, pg 1 & 9, Sec 3, B F Stolfa Taken By Death - Benjamin Franklin Stolfa, 63, who established the Crescent Cleaning here (Pomona) in 1930 and operated the business until he sold it about four months ago, died at 1:55 am today (Feb 11, 1954) at the Pomona Valley Community Hospital after a long illness. A native of Lampasas, Texas, Stolfa spent his youth in Tucumcari, New Mexico and Ardmore, Oklahoma. He came to Pomona in 1921 and worked in tailoring and dry cleaning business until he founded his own establishment. At the time of his death, he still owned a cleaning plant on West Holt Avenue. He was a member of Pomona BPOE Lodge 789. His wife, Ethel (Taylor) Stolfa, died 11 years ago (1943); they had no children by their union. Beside his niece, Mrs Lawrence Nagel of 3317 North San Antonio Avenue in the Claremont District with whom he lived after his wife's death, he leaves another niece, Mrs Mary Lanier of Harbor City, CA; two nephews, John Robinson of Pomona and Robert Robinson who is serving in the US Army; a foster daughter, Mrs Carl Bradley of Claremont, CA; his father, J J Stolfa of Ardmore, OK; and two sisters, Mrs Ruth Tobey of Chino, CA and Mrs Nella Bodermann of Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Pierce Brothers, Pollock and McClure Mortuary.
