Bio
Ann, as she was known to most who knew her, died on Saturday, September 14th at the age of 86, at home in Mesquite, Texas. She was born September 23, 1937, in Corinth, Mississippi, Ann lived in Chewalla, Tennessee until age 13, when the family moved to Dallas, Texas. She attended Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Texas. At age 16, Ann married Billy Wayne Halbert. Their marriage ended in 1971. Ann had one child and one grandchild. She was a resident of Mesquite, Texas since 1995, where she lived with her daughter and granddaughter. Ann worked in retail, for most of her life, until her retirement in 2001. She loved birds, especially red birds, collected clowns, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Texas Rangers. Until age, and eyesight, no longer allowed for it, she enjoyed doing yardwork and word search puzzles. Ann is survived by her daughter, Nancy George; granddaughter, Jillian George; sister, Becky Riner, of Wylie, Texas, and sister-in-law Cherry Ledbetter, of Cooper, Texas. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Joyce King, and brother, David Ledbetter. Aunt Ann had three nephews and three nieces. Ann will be cremated and will return home, to her daughter and granddaughter, as she would want.
