Carolyn Leigh Smith, 80, of Houston died Friday November 24, 2023 in a Houston hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Phillips Cemetery in Travis. Visitation will be from Noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith was born July 6, 1943 in Houston to Otto Fred and Emmie (Goode) Juergens. She married Dennis Smith on September 27, 1968. Mrs. Smith had worked in the retail industry for several department stores such as JCPenney and Walmart. She was preceded in death by her son, Bradley Crawford in 1993.
