Betty Ruth Cooley October 19, 1927  -  August 28, 2024 Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ruth Rion Cooley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Creel Memorial Chapel, Reeves, with Reverend Don Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens, Reeves, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Cooley, 96, of Reeves, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Kinder Retirement and Rehab Center, Kinder, LA. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved dancing, shopping, gardening, and caring for her plants. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling. Betty had a smile that could light up a room and loved her family with all her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by one son, Rick Williams; her parents, Dempsey Rion, Sr. and Murley Rion; and one brother, D.C. Rion, Jr. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include, one son, Randy Williams of Lake Charles; two stepsons, Bobby Cooley of Baytown, Texas, and Tommy Cooley of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Billie Muriel Hoffpauir of Reeves, and Beverly Baker of Port Arthur, Texas; one brother, Roger Rion (Beth); four grandsons, Wayne Williams (Kelly) of LeBlanc, Shane Williams (Jennifer) of Westlake, Rion Williams (Katie) of Lake Charles, and Nick Smith of Moss Bluff; one granddaughter, Christi Nixon of Lake Charles; nine great grandchildren, Kade Williams, Ethan Williams (Morgan), Kash Williams, Cooper Williams, Carson Williams, Jace Nixon, Conner Nixon, Braxton Hylton, and Rosalee Smith; five great-great grandchildren, Carter Williams, Gray Williams, Ava Williams, Izabell Williams, and Riley Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held at Creel Memorial Chapel, Reeves, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 9:00 am until time of service.
