ALLISON "ALLIE" HAMMOND ADAMS age 83, of Alvin, Tx. passed away October 13, 2005. She was born in Midfield, Tx. July 18, 1922, and was raised throughout that area a daughter of a rice farmer and rancher. During WW II, she was a riveter at Ellington AFB as part of the war effort. Then she attended Tulan, University Nursing School until she married Van V. Adams . During their marriage they were partners in rice farming and ranching. He predeceased her after 49 years of marriage The produced 7 children. Janice Adams Bocca of Austin Tx, Brenda Adams Minnis of Denton Tx., Rob R. Adams, Linn L. Adams, Marshall Adams of Alvin, Tx. D. Durwood Adams of Freeport Tx., Andrew A. Adams of Alvin, Tx. There are 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Her brothers Bill, James, & Richard Hammond of Angleton area predeceased her. Her sister Lois Hammond Hall & Eva Hammond Coley live in Houston, Tx. She has numerous nieces & nephews. Published in Houston Chronicle, 10/18/2005
