Josephine Janda, Lifelong Resident, Here, Is Dead Mrs. Josephine Janda, native and lifelong resident of Plattsmouth, died at her home here on Saturday, August 15, 1953. She was 72 years old. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Svoboda, she was born on April 12, 1881, at Plattsmouth. On September 23, 1907, she was married at the Holy Rosary church here to Frank Janda. Her husband died in July, 1923, at Plattsmouth. Mrs. Janda was a member of Holy Rosary church and Altar Society. Surviving are a son, Raphael M. Janda of Mission, Kansas; a daughter, Mrs. Josephine D. Lillie of Bladensburg, Maryland; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Bookmeyer of Plattsmouth, and Mrs. Marie Koehnke of Ventura, Calif.; a brother, Tom Svoboda of Omaha; and two grandchildren, Rose Marie Lillie of Bladensburg, and Rolaine Janda of Kansas City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, August 18, at 9 o'clock at Holy Rosary church with Rev. Raphael Chonta officiating. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre cemetery at Plattsmouth. The rosary will be Monday night at 8 p.m., at Sattler Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Sattler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
