Bennie Vaskell Carlile, age 86, of Fairfield, Texas, affectionately known as "Sonny", passed away peacefully on the 13th day of August 2024, at his home in Fairfield, Texas, at the age of 86. Born on the 1st day of February 1938, in Pike, Oklahoma, Sonny was the youngest child in a bustling household of seven brothers and sisters. His early life in Pike shaped him into the hardworking and loving man remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Sonny dedicated an astounding 68 years to the pipeline business, starting his career at the tender age of 14. His work was not just a job; it was a passion that took him to various places, allowing him to leave his mark on the world in a tangible way. Sonny's love for his work was only matched by his devotion to his beloved wife, Sadie, to whom he was married for over half a century. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their mutual love and respect. A man of many talents, Sonny was renowned for his mechanical skills. He took great joy in fixing things around the house, always eager to lend a hand with any project. His intelligence and handiness were a source of pride and admiration among his family and friends. Despite his busy work schedule, he always made time for his family, cherishing every moment spent with them. The love he had for his family was evident in every action, every sacrifice, and every smile he shared with them. Sonny's legacy is one of love, dedication, and intelligence. He was a man who not only knew how to work with his hands but also how to build and maintain the relationships that mattered most to him. His family will remember him as the loving patriarch who taught them the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of living a life filled with purpose. As Sonny's family and friends bid farewell to this remarkable man, they take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Mae Carlile; wife, Carolyn "Sadie" Carlile; son, Bennie "Butch" Carlile, Jr.; son-in-law, Mike Kirkpatrick; and his siblings, Chick Carlile, Steryl Carlile, Cleta Jones, Jimmie Pond, Ella Mae Canady, and Alma Lea Evans. He is survived by his daughters, Tamala Kirkpatrick and Jackie Brazzel, both of Fairfield, Texas; son, Allen Carlile of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, LaShawna Carlile and husband Stanley, Rocky Carlile, Scotty Carlile and wife Jesica, Brooke Carlile Uranga and husband Nathan, Brittnie Brazzel, Bradlee Carlile, and Chance Brazzel; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and an extensive pipeline family. Friends are invited to visit with the family and share memories of Sonny from five o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening on Monday, the 19th day of August 2024 at Rhone Funeral Home. Funeral services to honor the life of Bennie "Sonny" Carlile will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 20th day of August 2024 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Carlile Family Cemetery in Fairfield. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Rocky Carlile, Scotty Carlile, Bradlee Carlile, Chance Brazzel, Mikey Carlile, and Blake Carlile. Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at a location announced at the funeral service.
