Minnie Pearl Roane McCoy Funeral Home Thursday, June 05, 2008 Minnie Pearl Roane, 76, died June 4, 2008 in Abilene, TX. Services will be Friday, June 6, 2008, 10:00am at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Aubrey Jones and Patricia Boyd officiating. Services are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. She graduate high school from Blackwell in 1949 and moved to Sweetwater and worked as a dental assistant, clerk at Woolsworth 5 and 10, and Southwestern Bell as an operator. She married James Troy Roane December 9, 1950 in Blackwell, Texas and moved to Snyder in 1951 and trained operators for the new automated system during the oil boom. In 1975 she moved to the family's Eastland County Ranch. In 1989 she moved to Potosi and in 1993 to Lake Leon. Minnie is preceded in death by her husband Troy Roane in 1995, Daughter Carolyn Cay Tubb in 2002, Sister Ramona Barnes in 2002, Brother-in-law Gordon Barnes , parents Junior Alderman and Leola Lamkins Alderman and her beloved dog Muffy. Survivors include daughter Cheryl Smith & husband Gene of Eastland, TX. Granddaughters Tiffany Cay Tubb, Nolan Co., Tx., Marla Lynn Hanks & husband David of Conroe, TX., Longtime friend Jane Allsup Holly of Abilene, sisters-in-law Jane Patterson & husband Pat of Arlington, Texas, Mary Ann Searle & husband Jack Norman, of Oklahoma, Sylva Ward & husband Erwin, Yoakum, Texas.
