Confederate Veteran Thomas was born about 1842 in Robertson County to James D. Matthews born 1804 Maury Co. Tenn. and Martha Patricia Unknown born about 1805 in North Carolina Thomas Presley Matthews moved his new family and his Mother, Martha Patricia Matthews, to the Arcadia Community, Kaufman Co, Texas.
