Bio

Mary Cernoch, longtime Terrell resident, passed away on July 11, 2017. Mary was born June 22, 1939 in Crowley, Louisiana to Louis and Ella (Murphy) Kebodeaux. She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Robert "Red" Cernoch, her daughter, Patti Cernoch Elmore, her sister, Helen Fontenot, and brothers: Danny and Narviel Kebodeaux. She taught with TISD for over 30 years with Kennedy and Burnett Elementary where she was beloved by both students and staff for her dedication to teaching. Mary loved helping others and she often helped at Faith Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Terrell where her smiling face and willingness to help was a blessing to all. She was also renowned for her famous homemade fudge which sold for top dollar during bidding at the annual Ables Spring VFD Christmas Auction. A lady of infinite love and incredible, gentle spirit, Mary will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Robbin Cernoch Boney of Terrell; grandchildren: Christopher and wife, Melissa, Dakota, Robert, Alex, Dalton, and Ember; brother, Herman Kebodeaux and wife, Martha; sister, Dorothy Lomand and husband, Dalton as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends 6-8pm, Friday, July 14, at the funeral home.
