Robert died Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Robert Charles Barjenbruch was born in Columbus, Nebraska on March 21, 1945, to Martin and Louise (Hefti) Barjenbruch. He grew up on the family farm in Leigh, graduating from Leigh High School in 1963. After graduation, he went on to study Diesel Mechanics at Milford Trade School. Bob married Sharon Staver on May 3, 1969, in Hadar. The couple made their home in Norfolk and were blessed with two children, Brian and Ann. They lived in Norfolk until they moved to Omaha in 2022. To Bob, his work was a way of life. He began his career at Schmodes, Inc. first as a diesel mechanic, later in sales, and finally, purchasing the business in 1985 until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed spending time with his friends in both Norfolk and Arizona where he and Sharon would travel to in order to escape the Nebraska winters. Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Brian (Sallie Ngarmtap) Barjenbruch and Ann (Nick) Reis; grandchildren, Bennett and Sullivan Barjenbruch, and Jack Reis; sister, Annette (Don) Marking; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Louise; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Staver.
