Laid to rest near Kate and Mary Sparks
November 1, 1954 The Daily Ardmoreite from Ardmore, Oklahoma • 5 Sparks Rites To Be Tuesday Services will be Tuesday at 10 a. m. in Harvey Chapel for Fred Sparks, 58, oil field driller, who died Thursday in a Newport Beach, hospital following a brief illness due to a coronary condition. His home was in Sunset Beach, Calif. He was born May 22, 1896, in Hartshorne. Survivors are his wife, Lorena; one son, Fred S. Sparks, Miami, two sisters, Miss Effie Sparks and Mrs. Audrey Hogue, both of Fort Worth, Texas, and his mother, Mrs. Kate Sparks, 336 St. NW. and one granddaughter, Wanda Susan Sparks. Sparks formerly lived in Ardmore. He was reared here but had not lived in Ardmore since 1926. He was an uncle of Cub F. Dillard, Valdosta, and the late Floyd Dillard, lease broker. His mother is a pioneer Ardmore resident. He had been employed with the Brown Drilling Co. for four years. Burial is to be in Rose Hill with Harveys in charge of arrangements.
