Private family graveside inurnment for Shirley L. Chace, 93, of Norfolk, NE will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk, NE. Shirley passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Shirley was born on August 4th, 1930, in Wakefield, NE to Russell and Leona (Okerbloom) Johnson. She attended country school, rural Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948. After graduating from high school, Shirley lived in Sioux City for four years. She then married Robert Chace on February 14th, 1953 in Pilger, NE. After they were married, they farmed outside Norfolk and then moved to the Pilger area. They retired in 2000 and then moved to Norfolk. Shirley enjoyed helping on the farm and sewing. She also enjoyed playing cards, and playing bingo. She was a past member at the Methodist Church in Pilger, NE. Survivors include children Rick (Jenny) Chace of Norfolk, NE, Randy (Brenda) Chace of Norfolk, Debra (Gene) Rupp of Waconia, Minnesota, 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Chace, parents Russell and Leona Johnson, brother Wendall Johnson, and one brother in infancy.
