The Norfolk Daily News; Norfolk, Nebraska; Monday, August 22, 1983; Page 19 Deaths and funerals Marie Hoffsten ELGIN -- Services for Marie Josephine Hoffsten, 73, Elgin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Kenneth Potts will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 3 - 5 p.m. Monday at Huffman's Brooks Chapel and after 7 p.m. at the church, where there will be an 8 p.m. rosary. The daughter of John and Clara (Reicks) Werner was born at Petersburg Dec. 11, 1909, and died Sunday at the Neligh hospital. She grew to womanhood on a Raeville farm and attended St. John Berchman School. On Aug. 13, 1928, she was married to William C. Dozler of Elgin at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. They farmed until her husband died Nov. 5, 1959. On Oct. 12, 1968, she was married to Kermit Hoffsten of Elgin. They farmed southwest of Elgin until moving to town in 1977. Mrs. Hoffsten belonged to St. Boniface Church and its Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. John (Marion) Kunzman of Albion, two sons, John J. Dozler of Houston and Clayton C. Dozler of Elgin, 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Martha) Zamiatala of Vance, Alabama, and Mrs. Jack (Charlotte) Schaudel of Ft. Wayne, Ind., two brothers, Hugo Werner of Petersburg and Louis Werner of Neligh. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, one son and one sister. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper. (GH)
