June McDonald Obituary On September 14, 2021, God took one of his earthly angels to heaven. He came for June U. McDonald. June was born in Bryan, TX on June 15, 1947 to Fred and Tillie Urbanovsky. She was raised in Mesquite, TX and graduated from Mesquite High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin University. June was a teacher for 25 years at Berkner High School in Richardson, TX. While first teaching typing classes, she quickly recognized that personal computers were the future, and she went on to become the Computer Technology Specialist. For many years, June was very active at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish June's memory are beloved husband of 53 years, Jerry McDonald of Jacksonville; sons, Jason McDonald and wife Heather of McKinney and Greg McDonald and wife Tera of Woodville; her sister, Pamela Topletz of Dallas; her grandchildren Ryan McDonald and wife Joanna, and Madeline McDonald. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial for June is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Father Jay will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. The Holy Rosary recitation will begin at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Building Fund, 1023 Corinth Rd., Jacksonville, TX 75766. June battled breast cancer with courage and grace for 9 years, while always putting the needs of others first. The family wishes to thank Hospice of East Texas for their care and concern in her final weeks; and a special thanks to Doctor Su and his staff at Texas Oncology of Tyler. His relentless efforts gave her additional precious time with her family.
