Skeeter M. Dvorak, age 67, of Loup City and formerly of Grand Island, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at CHI-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 2nd at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the graveside at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Skeeter Marie. Dvorak, the daughter of Edith (Kennedy) Naughton, was born at Valentine, Nebraska on August 29, 1956 and passed away in Grand Island, Nebraska on June 29, 2024, at the age of 67. Skeeter grew up in Valentine, Nebraska. She graduated from Valentine High School and then attended beauty school in Sidney. Skeeter and her children moved to Grand Island the summer of 1980, where she worked at Shopko in the theft division. Skeeter married Richard A. Dvorak, Sr. on July 17, 1999 at Ashton, Nebraska. They moved to Loup City where Skeeter worked for King's Variety Store. Rick passed away on May 26, 2013. She returned living in Grand Island until her health declined and she spent nearly a decade in a nursing home. Skeeter enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, diamond painting and shopping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Dvorak, Sr.; mother; three brothers, Jerry, Ron and Les and great-granddaughter, Nova-lee. Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Justin (Carrie) Burmeister of Grand Island and Twyla (John) LeFever of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Mikka, Mikayla, Mirissa and Chanda; four great-grandchildren, Bentley, Ryker, Johnathan and Jailyn; sister, Debbie (Greg) Daugherty of Crookston and other family members and friends.
