Bobby Lee Repka was born to Roland E. and Aloweise (Mikeska) Repka. With his sister Betty Lou, he picked cotton in the Fall for County Fair money & new school clothes. He lived in Monaville until moving to the big city of Hempstead in 1957. He worked at Mueller Furniture Store, had a Houston Press paper route. He was later a volunteer fireman and an active member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus..~ Bobby met Betty Newcomb in June of 1960. He began working for Newcomb's Furniture in March of 1961 and learned how to repair appliances. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 1961. Then married Betty, his high school sweetheart, on July 28, 1963. They were blessed with son Jon in 1964, daughter Sally Anne in 1967 and son Jason in 1972. ~ Bobby worked for Newcomb's for 19 years before he and Betty bought Newcomb Hardware in 1980. Their Repka's Hardware remained a Hempstead landmark for 35 years until closing in December 2015. ~ He greatly enjoyed activities with his family especially camping. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. ~ Bobby was diagnosed with non-Hodgekins Lymphoma in 1992. After a bone marrow transplant in 1994, he remained in remission. ~ Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved Betty, wife of 60 years; his son Jason Repka; and his grandchild Mattern. ~ Left to treasure his memory are his son Jon Repka & wife Susan; daughter Sally Mattern & husband Paul; his sister Betty Lou Meyers; his brother Rickey Repka & wife Barbara; grandson Tyler Repka and wife Kaitlyn; granddaughter Rachel O'Lane and husband David; grandson Tommy Kmiec; granddaughter Melissa Kmiec Anhorn; great granddaughter Alice Rei Repka; great grandsons Cohen Lee O'Lane, Alex Kmiec, Austin Anhorn, Nico Kmiec and Morgan Kmiec; great granddaughters Hailey Anhorn, Ariana Kmiec, and Ada Kmiec; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of lifelong friends. Visitation Friday, July 5, 2024, from 5-7pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10am at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church with Fr. Xavier Bilavendiran officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
