Bio

Wilma Jean Boles, 85, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on June 24, 2024. She was born on December 25, 1938, in North Loup, NE, to parents William Henry Vodehnal and Elfreda Maudeline (Sershen) Vodehnal. Wilma taught the fourth grade at Brownell Elementary, a public education school, in Lincoln, Nebraska for 35 years. During her tenure, she educated over 1,000 young lives by using grace and caring. Wilma loved, and respected, all her students -- she lived for them -- and she encouraged each one to discover the unique promise of their dreams by using knowing, thoughtfulness, and imagination to help them achieve the wonder of their lives. Wilma is survived by her son, David Boles and daughter-in-law, Janna Sweenie. She was preceded in death by her parents. She earned her Bachelor's in Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and was an active member of various organizations including First United Methodist Church, Lincoln Education Association, Nebraska State Education Association, Lincoln Area Retired Teachers Association, P.T.A. Life Member, KIWANIS-Capital City, Delta Zeta Sorority at NWU past president. A private family Graveside Service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in North Loup, NE.
