Bio

Obituary (from the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home website): Pat Irwin Cottle of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 18, 2024 at the age of 76. He was born on July 17, 1947, in McKinney, Texas, to loving parents Pat Virgil Cottle and Clemmye Mae (Holley) Cottle. Pat attended McKinney High School and was a Deacon at the Altoga Baptist Church. On August 30, 1968, he married the love of his life, Peggy Jo Parks, in McKinney, Texas. Their union was blessed with two children, Tamara and Vance, and later, a host of grandchildren who brought immense joy to Pat's life. Pat dedicated 27 years of service to Collin County, working in facilities maintenance until his retirement in 2010. Prior to this, he was a heavy equipment mechanic. Pat had a deep love for farming and cattle, and he took great pride in his John Deere Gator. He was known for his warm and friendly nature, always ready to welcome new friends with a smile and a story. One of Pat's greatest pleasures was sitting on his front porch, savoring a cup of coffee and a cigarette, watching his cows, and enjoying the simple beauty of life. His family was the cornerstone of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Jo Cottle of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Tamara Cottle (Ivonda Mobbs) of Melissa, Texas; son, Vance Cottle (Anna) of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Cottle (Christine Dunn) of Rockwall, Texas; Breanna Harvey (Nathan) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Brittany Cottle of Plano, Texas; Vance Cottle "baby boy" of Leonard, Texas; and a host of other numerous loving family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his beloved grandson, Patrick Turner . A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Melissa Cemetery for a committal service. The family will receive guests for a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
