Bio

Andy was the son of John and Mary (Wagner) Stein, a farm family. His siblings were Ervin Peter (1899-1957; burial place unknown), George, Leona, Joseph, and Mary (b. abt 1910, infant death). Andy left Wisconsin in 1935 for Longview, Washington, where he soon sent for his sweetheart, Rosella Gregorius, and they married in February 1936 at St Rose Catholic Church. Andy and Rosella had three children: Mary Jo, who died hours after birth in 1936; Donna Kay in 1940; and David Michael 1950-2015. Andy worked at the Longview Fibre except for a few years in the late 1940's when he ran the Eighth Avenue Grocery. He greatly enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and playing cards. He died of a heart attack on the return trip of visiting relatives in Wisconsin.
